Q:  What does the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music do?

A:  The Nanaimo Conservatory of Music is a not-for-profit community music school for students of all ages, from babies, toddlers, children, teens and adults to seniors, in both individual private lessons and group lessons. All levels of experience are welcome from beginners to advanced.

Q:  What special programs does the Conservatory offer?

A:  The Nanaimo Conservatory of Music also offers Magical Melodies, and also the well-known Suzuki method, clinics, musical theatre summer programming, choir, Music Therapy, festivals, concerts, and much more.

Q:  Are there any scholarships or bursaries offered?

A:  Scholarships and bursaries are awarded annually, both  for achievement and for financial need.

​

Q:  Who are the faculty?

A:  Our students study with top instructors in voice, and on instruments that include guitar, harp, violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, piano, saxophone and trombone. Instruction in other less common instruments is also given at the Nanaimo Conservatory, including orchestral instruments such as the oboe, bassoon and French horn.

Q:  Do you have to have special talent to take music lessons at the Conservatory?

A:   Nanaimo Conservatory of Music offers instruction to the serious music student, as well as to the student simply looking for an enjoyable leisure pursuit.
