Graham Yates

Born and raised in Prince George, BC, Graham Yates is a pianist, composer, and educator with over 20 years of experience in Canada and the United States. He holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Brandon University and has extensive experience teaching piano, including Suzuki pedagogy and Royal Conservatory of Music exam preparation.

Graham has performed with organizations including Austin Opera, Conspirare, and One Ounce Opera, and his compositions have been presented by ensembles across Canada and the United States. He is a member of the Royal Conservatory of Music College of Examiners and an active composer, adjudicator, and clinician.

After more than a decade in Texas, Graham returned to British Columbia in 2026 and is delighted to bring his teaching, performing, and composing experience to the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music.
