Sarah Oliver is a skilled violist with a background in Viola Performance, having studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music under renowned instructors Jeff Irvine, Peter Slowik, and Dr. Molly Gebrian. She is the Principal Violist of the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra and actively performs in local chamber groups. Previously, she was a member of the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra and Sarah currently plays viola in the Vancouver Island Symphony occasionally.

Sarah is passionate about teaching and offers Suzuki violin and viola lessons to students of all ages, alongside traditional methods for advanced players. Her teaching journey began with a desire to share the joy of music with her eldest son, who is autistic and disabled, and her studio warmly welcomes all neurodivergent students.

In addition to teaching, Sarah provides chin rest and shoulder rest fitting sessions to help musicians find comfortable setups. Recently relocated to Nanaimo, Sarah and her family have quickly embraced the community and the beauty of the Island.
